Shouldn’t I arrange HRT through my GP?
In an ideal world, that’d be fantastic. In reality, you can spend months suffering while you wait for a doctor’s appointment. Not only that, since the menopause is a natural stage of ageing, treatment is relatively low priority. If you do manage to see a GP, you can get turned away on the basis of your symptoms not matching their expectations, or told you’re ‘too young’ to be menopausal or perimenopausal. Often, HRT though your GP isn’t a realistic option.
Will this interfere with NHS-prescribed medication?
No, Bioidentical HRT will not interfere with any medication. You can take anything prescribed by your GP while you’re getting HRT, except other hormone treatments. If you are undergoing TRT or another form of HRT privately, or on the NHS, we can’t treat you.
Will this interfere with NHS-prescribed medication?
Yes, in all the ways that matter. Bioidentical HRT only introduces hormones into your body that should naturally be there, despite its slightly intimidating name. This treatment could only be deemed not ‘natural’ in the sense it isn’t herbal. For your health and hygiene, the specific mix of hormones your body needs will be blended and packed in laboratory conditions.

How do I know the hormones in my blood are accurate?
Great question. You can’t get an accurate reading of your hormone levels every day since they fluctuate. We advise patients to take blood tests on day 21 of their cycle, so we can observe how estrogen and progesterone are interacting in the body. There’s no need to remember this information, we’ll remind you closer to your blood test
And lastly, will it take very long to see results?
No, it won’t! Within 8 weeks of taking hormones daily, our patients have noticed some changes - like reduced brain fog and a bit of extra energy.
